OPENING OF A LEGO EXHIBITION IN CAIRO
LEGO has opened an exhibition at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
The exhibition consists of a large number of Pharaonic statues built in Lego bricks. The statutes have previously been on a world tour but have been donated by LEGO to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo for a permanent exhibition. The LEGO exhibition is part of a newly opened Children’s Museum within the Egyptian Museum.
The exhibition was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Henrik who is presently on a private visit to Egypt. Attending was also Dr Zahi Hawass, Chief of the Egyptian Antiquities Organisation as well as Dr Wafaa Sadiq, Head of the Egyptian Museum, who has also been the driving force behind the project, in addition to the Danish ambassador and members of the Embassy staff.
Several hundred people attended including representatives from the diplomatic corps and the media as well as a large number of children.
